Ireland’s Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris announced plans to introduce legislation suspending trade with Israeli companies operating in the occupied Palestinian territories. The Occupied Territories Bill, slated for government review next week, marks a significant political stance against Israel’s blockade of Gaza.

Harris, who also serves as Minister for Foreign Affairs, condemned the use of starvation as a weapon of war amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The proposed ban reflects growing international scrutiny of economic ties with settlements in contested regions.
